In 2023, we took the reins of Mexicola Locale with a simple goal: to share the joy of vibrant Mexican food with Cape Town and its surrounds. What was once a small coastal cantina has quickly grown into a beloved local hotspot, known for bold flavours, lively cocktails, and that unmistakable Mexican energy that makes every visit feel like a celebration.

Since taking over, we’ve poured our hearts into creating a space where everyone feels welcome — where friends, families, and neighbours can gather over fresh, flavourful dishes inspired by the streets and beaches of Mexico. What started as a single location has already grown, and we’re just getting started on our mission to spread the love of Mexican cuisine across the city.

We know some locals may remember Mexicola Locale differently — under previous ownership — and we’re proud to show how far we’ve come.
